Legendary Metal Coins Production Update

Legendary Metal Coins Production Update

, by Evangelos Foskolos, 1 min reading time

For the previous weeks we had been going through the production of the Legendary Metal Coins, and preparing to ship everything, immediately when all coins are made!
In order to manufacture the coins, and make them as great as promised, they have to go through various stages.

Let's have a closer look to each of them;

Molding:

The first thing needed to be done is preparing all the molds for the production.
As you might have read in our previous production update, we had to make many more molds that the initial print run in order to satisfy the big demand.
You can see above, the mold for one of the pirate coins.

Well, that's quite obvious, we need metal to make some coins. To get that, we have to purchase some metal bars (like seen above) and then melt them to have liquid metal ready to get its cool shape from the molds.

After spending some time in the special machine putting pressure in the molds, we have the first roughs of the coins. They look something like this:

What you see here is the execution of a simple concept, rubbing the coins in the rough edges for a couple of hours help them get sharper and intensify their characteristics. Actually in the video you watch the process required to remove the coins from the machine with minimum material loss.

After this, the last step is to plate them so they can have their colors.
Plate them to become something like this:

And there you have it!
These coins are too beautiful to keep, so we are going to send them to our Kickstarter backers, starting next week!! And with them, don't forget that some of these are coming, too:

And that's it for today! We hope you enjoyed the read.
